Having crocheted a rectangle to the size I wanted, I began joining the ends...

I did this painting a couple of weeks ago and have since forgotten what else I was going to do on it. I wanted the text like that and an image of a tree/some trees on a hill, so I've got that... but what now? I'd like to get some beeswax on there but that will have to wait until I actually have beeswax... and one of those mini quilting irons. I think it needs something. Any thoughts?

Here's what it looks like so far. Not a great picture actually. I should have straightened it out a bit - the edges aren't really that wobbly. I just wanted to show you how much I had done since Monday. I am very pleased indeed. Sian, you are an excellent teacher. It's almost finished. I'm hoping to have it finished by the weekend.

There's a chump, going by the name of Jason Dittle, going around putting comments on blogs saying
"Hey, the site I was talking about where I made the extra $800 a month was This Site".
I haven't clicked on the link which is 'This Site' as we KNOW it will be a virus. Be careful. If you receive a comment from a stranger asking you to click on the link, be very suspicious.
After spending a lovely day with the lovely Sian last week, I was inspired to have another go at crocheting (she taught me how to a few months ago). I can really only crochet a rectangle, and a scarf would take far too long (not to mention I have a million scarves). So Hubby suggested a snood - and what a marvellous idea! So the plan is to do a rectangle and then join it at each end to make a snood. I've done a lot more since Monday but I can't upload the pictures because the batteries are still charging. Don't you just hate that with really really old rechargeable batteries - you charge them for 12 hours but they only work for 5 minutes. I'll try to post a more recent picture later today.

I'm still alive and well, but I've been far too tired to blog. I'm working on two little arty things at the moment, but they're taking longer than expected. So, for now I will share a picture I took on Friday when we went to Bath for the day.
I hope to be back to usual blogging self next week. This week, I've had no energy to spare at all.

Here's a drawing I did today. I've been feeling really rough today, so focusing my attention on drawing helped to take my mind off things. Also, I love the feelings of accomplishment I get when I've actually got something to show for my day (apart from clean clothes - they only get dirty again anyway!).

Okay so I didn't post pictures yesterday. It turned into quite a busy day. Today I have some art-journal pages to share with you. This one is one from a while ago but I jazzed it up with some ribbon, which I really like.
This spread is on 'rest'. As part of the recovery process for ME, I am having to teach myself how to really rest. I don't have the energy to be taking part in high-demand activity, so my days are generally filled with low-demand activity OR sleep (which I am VERY good at!). However, I need to be making time to really rest - just sit down and breathe for ten minutes. Don't read a book (that hurts my eyes and I have to use my brain, which is mush most of the time), don't watch TV: just sit. There are just so many other things I could be doing though!
I find blank pages quite daunting so on this spread I stuck down a wallpaper border (I always pick up some free samples when I'm in DIY shops). With a border like that, I needed a spread that was quite flamboyant, so the rest just happened. But I have no idea what to journal about on it! I think I'll wait until I have something so celebrate and dance about.
And finally this page. I really really enjoyed making this spread. Lots of layering and ripping and painting. It reads "one of my favourite places is the land of dreams". That's right folks, it's a whole spread about my love of sleep (or should that be my love for sleep?). The sketch I did of the sleeping girl (possibly me?) was one I drew years ago, so I just copied it.
Ah I do love sleep.

Well I've been working on a few different things recently, but I can't upload the photographs just yet because the camera batteries are charging. So here's a collage I did last week. Well, more of a mixed media piece really. I was just playing about but I really like it.
I'll post lots of pictures tomorrow (I scanned this).

Well... not really. But my picture is on fliers and posters all around Neath (a little town in Wales), so I do feel a little famous. This was the internet version which can be found here.
A few years ago my mum went to a printing shop to get a picture of me (as a toddler) blown up. The people in the shop thought that the photo was so good that they asked if they could put a copy of it in the window. I would pass that shop on the bus and, even though no-one else knew that it was me, I still felt a bit special: honoured than someone would want a photo of me (although, it's more of a testimony to my mum's photography, as it was an excellent photo), do you know what I mean?

I recently had a warning about comments simply saying 'click here' and how you should delete these comments and NEVER click on them as it will fill your computer with viruses. Fortunately I have a Mac, so I don't have to worry about viruses, but I did get one of those comments today and I swiftly deleted it. A warning to you all: don't click, just delete. Don't even click on their name.
After having stuck plenty of junk into the book, I was having difficulty closing it...
... this is what the book looked like when it was being held shut...
So I decided to re-string it! I got my pliers out and cut the metal rings off and held it together with string instead.
"That's okay, little bookey wook"
